Leak suggests Huawei Mate 70 series could be expensive
Huawei Mate 70 series could be more expensive than its predecessors. Of course, the credit goes to several new features and a mysterious Kirin chip. Although good news for consumers is that there won’t be much hike in the price as expected.
Weibo tipster @FixedFocus says that the Huawei Mate 70 series could be expensive. It would likely cost more than the previous-gen smartphones. Although a positive point is – the price increase won’t be much for the upcoming handsets.
Looking at past launches, the company has mostly increased the price of its new device by 100 or 200 yuan. We can expect the same for the Mate 70 series as well.
For reference, the Mate 60 series’ starting price is as follows:
- Huawei Mate 60 (12GB + 256GB) – 5499 yuan
- Huawei Mate 60 Pro (12GB + 256GB) – 6499 yuan
- Huawei Mate 60 Pro+ (16GB + 512GB) – 8999 yuan
- Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design – (16GB + 512GB) – 11999 yuan
Perhaps the company will increase its new devices by 100 or 200 yuan this time. Things are currently uncertain. Thus, let’s take this input with a grain of salt.
A recent leak revealed that Huawei’s new Kirin chip could be costlier than the previous versions. Hence, it could be a reason why the price of Mate 70 models might increase. Some advanced features and components may also count in the reason list.
Huawei Mate 70 series sales are tipped to begin early next month. Another tipster said that the company could start selling the devices online later this month while making it available in offline stores by December.
The flagship model could go live at any time. Huawei has announced the Mate 70 launch for this month twice. The lineup will come on the ground with some other amazing products. For instance, a new tablet, earbuds, Watch D2, and more.
