Honor X60 will make its debut in October with new features, significant key specs, and probably a jumbo 6000mAh battery. A new leak says that the next X-tagged series may sport the biggest cell capacity derived from the Qinghai Lake solution.

Yes, Honor mostly uses the Qinghai Lake battery for its flagship smartphone lineup. The best example is the Magic 6 series which runs on a 5600mAh Qinghai Lake cell.

But it seems the tech giant could use the Qinghai Lake battery solution for its X series, for the first time. Tipster @FixedFocus says that Honor X60 may sport a 6000mAh or even bigger battery, compared to the predecessor X50 smartphones.

If the leak is accurate, it would be the first time when Honor will impose a flagship-level battery on a non-premium model. The company has yet to confirm this news. The capacity seems even bigger than many of the Honor’s flagship phones.

Qinghai Lake battery solution is Honor’s first silicon-carbon anode battery. It uses 10% of the silicon content. It offers 12.8% higher energy density than lithium-based cells. This solution boosts the battery life without reducing its volume.

Apart from the battery details, the tipster says that the Honor X60 could weigh 3 grams more than the previous-gen model. For reference, the X50 weighs 185 grams. It means the upcoming device will bear 188 grams. Its thickness will probably be the same as the X50.

Honor CMO has confirmed the X60 launch for October. It will likely launch after the Chinese National Holidays. By that time, we may find more details about the device.
