Leak reveals new Kirin 8000 chipset for mid-range Huawei smartphones
Huawei has a new chipset Kirin 8000 and it’s leaked ahead of the launch with Nova 12 mid-range smartphones.
Huawei Nova 12 Pro with model number ADA-AL00 was spotted on a device information mobile app equipped with Kirin 8000 chipset. This is a new chipset and has not been used so far in any of the Huawei products.
The company may also equip this chipset on the standard Nova 12 version. For now, the app has not exposed the core architecture but it carries a 5G network.
Unlike the Kirin 9000s, the Kirin 8000 will take a few steps forward to the next-generation mid-range lineup after the Kirin 810, Kirin 820 5G, and Kirin 820E 5G. These chipsets were launched in 2019, 2020, and 2021 respectively.
All of these Kirin chipsets were featured in the Huawei Nova series.
In 2021, Huawei tuned into the Snapdragon chipset and installed the Snapdragon 778G 4G processor for the Nova 8,9, 10, and 11 lineups.
The next generation of Kirin chipset will restore 5G connectivity to the Huawei Nova franchise with better performance than last year.
Back in August, Huawei released the Mate 60 Pro with the Kirin 9000s. The chipset manufacturing process and the resources are quite controversial and the company has not released its details either.
Aside from this, the leaked image also shows that the phone has a wide pill-shaped cutout in the top center of the screen. The look is quite aligned with the Mate 60 Pro while bezels are pushed to each corner, providing a full view.
The screen has a 2776×1224 pixels resolution on the Nova 11 Pro as compared to the 2652×1200 pixels resolution on the Huawei Nova 11 Pro.
Past live image leak of the Huawei Nova 12 series shows that the phone will come in three color variants – White, Blue, and Black. The lineup is likely to consist of four models – Nova 12 Lite, Nova 12, Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra.
