Leak hints new Huawei Kirin 5G foldable is on the way, could be Mate X6
A Weibo tipster hints at the near launch of an alleged Huawei Kirin 5G foldable phone, and this could be Mate X6. Apart from the awaited tri-fold handset, we could soon find another Huawei folding phone on the consumer platform.
Tipster @DigitalChatStation says that a new Huawei Kirin 5G foldable is on the way, and it could be Mate X6. However, it is unclear if the company will introduce a new processor for this device or use one of the existing chipsets like 9010 or 9000s.
Satellite connectivity seems another useful addition. Huawei may unveil new and advanced satellite features with the Mate X6 compared to its predecessors.
The features list further includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. In response to this leak, some netizens showed interest in the rumored ultrasonic fingerprint solution for the Mate 70 flagship. But the tipster didn’t clarify anything at the moment.
An early input said that the Huawei Mate X6 foldable could arrive later this year. Flashback reveals that the phone maker launched Mate X5 in September 2023, right after Mate 60 series. Thus the firm might follow the same rule this time as well.
Being the successor, Mate X6 will probably bring upgraded capabilities over the previous-gen foldable. Alongside new chip and satellite tools, the device could accompany the HarmonyOS NEXT software system out of the box.
Other changes might be visible in the design. Huawei has not confirmed any news so far. Hence it is better to keep patience and wait for official inputs on this subject.
Mate X5 has been ruling over the Chinese and global consumers’ hearts. It helped the company to secure its first position in the global market and defeat its rivals like Samsung for the first time. With the next foldable phone, we can expect more achievements for the tech giant in this field.
