Leak hints Huawei Pura 70 series begins HarmonyOS NEXT adaptation

News regarding the Huawei Pura 70 series implies that the flagship lineup began adapting to HarmonyOS NEXT. The company has not made this development official yet. But a new input has shed light on this matter, revealing some major details.

As noted by @FixedFocus, the Huawei Pura 70 series has started the HarmonyOS NEXT adaptation. The tipster says that he found some development feedback on the official community. It seems the flagship lineup is about to complete the adaptation.

Huawei unveiled the HarmonyOS NEXT beta at HDC 2024 event. At the same time, the company opened the developer beta testing of the new software for three major devices: the Mate 60 Pro, the Mate X5 foldable, and the MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet.

Despite premium models, Pura 70 smartphones (not even Ultra) got a slot in this testing phase. Although the official timeline showed that the respective lineup will obtain the HarmonyOS NEXT developer beta in August (next month).

It looks like Huawei has already taken the first step for the Pura 70 series in this matter. HarmonyOS NEXT adaptation for the top-end handsets now seems underway.

Apart from the Pura devices, the roadmap also shows devices like the Pocket 2 series, MatePad Pro 11 2024, as well as the FreeBuds Pro 3 in the beta list for August. Thus, the phone maker may soon begin software adaptation for these models.

The Pura 70 series is currently getting ready for the HarmonyOS NEXT beta version. It will fetch the stable build in Q4 2024 as the first batch of devices.

The same tipster earlier reported the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta version development is completed. It further has entered stability testing to check the software’s compatibility with devices. Perhaps Huawei will soon begin this testing with Pura 70 models.

The ultimate lineup came with HarmonyOS 4.2 out of the box. It holds several useful features alongside AI capabilities. All four models carry a triple-lens arrangement and offer enhanced photography. It would be interesting to see how the new software will boost the device’s performance in the time ahead.
