Huawei has been releasing its latest HM OS 2 (HarmonyOS 2) features for different Huawei devices. In the latest development, the Huawei Mate 40 series are the latest recipient of this HM OS features update.

The latest HM OS 2 feature update includes a number of new changes in the UI/UX and simplifies the task handling. After the installation, the Mate 40 series will surely be able to provide the latest user experience.

Before we hop on to the feature details, we should mention that global Huawei Mate 40 Pro users will not receive this software version as it’s only available for Chinese consumers. On the other hand, the Chinese software maker is yet to share an official HM OS 2 roadmap for global users.

Latest HM OS Features for Huawei Mate 40 series:

According to the changelog, the latest HM OS 2 software update for the Huawei Mate 40 series comes with HM OS 2 version 2.0.0.165 and an update package size of 0.94GB. Moreover, the software package comes in two parts along with the changes respectively.

Before this update, Huawei sent a new patch for the Mate 40 models that included Celia voice assistant improvements and more.

HarmonyOS:

HM OS 2 is a brand new operating system, designed and developed by Huawei. Following its release, the company has donated this code as Open Source. The HM OS 2 is based on distributed capabilities that allow features such as cross-device connection and super devices.

During the launch of the Huawei P50 series, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group – Yu Chengdong confirmed that HM OS 2 has 40 million installations in smartphones and other Huawei devices. Still, the installation remained enclosed in China and the number will further increase once more users get access to this operating system in the global market.
