Kirin 985 officially appears on AI-benchmark, includes in-house DaVinci NPU
Huawei has just unveiled a new processor – Kirin 820 5G with Honor 30S and the company has now moved towards the launch of another new chipset – Kirin 985 with Honor 30 series on April 15.
Under new development, the processor has now confirmed its official presence and appeared on the AI-benchmark platform, achieving an AI score of 50926 points and placed at third rank.
The Kirin 985 consists of 1 x Cortex-A76 (2.58GHz) + 3 x Cortex-A76 (2.40GHz) + 4 x Cortex-A55 (1.84GHz). Similar to the Kirin 990, Kirin 985 adopts 2 cores of inhouse Da Vinci NPU. On the other hand, the Kirin 990 5G has three NPU cores placing it at the top rank.
In the top 5 smartest AI chipsets rank, Huawei owns four of them including the Kirin 990 5G, Kirin 985, Kirin 820 and Kirin 990.
One of the officials from Honor, today shared the AI benchmark and bragged about its power but didn’t reveal any additional details, which will be unveiled next week.
