Kirin 820 5G to come with A76 CPU, G77 GPU and improved NPU performance
This year, Huawei is planning to bring new mid-range 5G devices powered by a new Kirin chipset to be called – Kirin 820 5G.
Now, there’s some new information that appeared from a well-known tipster on Weibo, revealing some of Kirin 820 specs and its core architecture.
According to the information, The Kirin 820 manufactured with the 7nm process, A76 CPU and Mali G77 GPU, compared to Mali G52 GPU in Kirin 810.
The new GPU is a big upgrade and also even higher than the Mali-G76 used in flagship Kirin 990.
Also, the processor uses improved Neural Processing Unit (NPU) possibly core from the in-house Ascend lite and supported by the Da Vinci architecture.
However, there’s no information available regarding the embedded modem used in this chipset.
The Kirin 820 5G is likely to power upcoming smartphones – Huawei Nova 7 and Honor 30 smartphones.
