January 2022 HarmonyOS security update is available for Honor V30 series

Huawei is pushing out the January 2022 HarmonyOS software update for Honor V30 series smartphone users. The latest update brings the security patch released in January 2022 that fixes many privacy and security-related vulnerabilities.

According to information, the January 2022 security update for the Honor V30 series fixes over 130 common vulnerabilities found in the latest software system. However, this update could also improve the system stability but it is not mentioned in the changelog.

• Honor V30 Pro

New information reveals that Honor V30 smartphone users are receiving HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.220 updated from 2.0.0.218. On the other hand, Honor V30 Pro also gets HarmonyOS 2.0.0.220 version from 2.0.0.219.

So, Honor V30 users don’t miss this update because it contains a security patch, which is mandatory to install in a time span. Keep your eyes on the update section of your phone and download it as soon as it appears on your device.

To be mentioned, Honor V30’s December 2021 update brought a big list of changes including optimizations for Bluetooth, app compatibility, system stability, and smart multi-window mode as well as security improvements.

How to check for update:

Honor V30 series smartphone users can check the update through phone settings or the My Huawei app. Both of these methods are mentioned below.

To update through Settings, go to Settings, tap on system & updates, tap on software updates, then check for updates. Wait for seconds, while the device is connecting to the server and checking for updates. Once an update appeared, tap on the download option and install it.

Alternatively, you can open the My Huawei app, go to update sections, tap on check for update and follow on-screen instructions to download and install the update.
