January 2022 HarmonyOS security update for Huawei Mate X2 rolling out
Huawei has released the January 2022 HarmonyOS security update for the Huawei Mate X2 – a new-generation foldable smartphone. The update is rolling out with the HarmonyOS software version 2.0.0.222 in China.
Recently, it was reported that Huawei will introduce a new Huawei Mate X2 Spring Festival special edition equipped with 12GB of RAM and 1TB internal storage. The only change found in the new edition is extra storage. Read more
Coming to the latest update, the January 2022 update for Huawei Mate X2 mainly enhances the system security by fixing several CVEs encountered in the different parts of the software system.
Also, you know that the update may take at least one-two weeks time to reach all users of the corresponding device available in the market. You can also check the software update manually by following the steps mentioned below.

- Latest version: Huawei Mate X2 users receiving HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.222 updated from 2.0.0.221.
- Changelog: Installs the security patch released in January 2022 for better system security.
January 2022 HarmonyOS security update details:
January 2022 HarmonyOS security patch fixes 4 CVEs in the framework, 10 CVEs in the system, and 5 CVEs in the application. Additionally, it also resolves the massive count of 111 CVEs found in the third-party libraries.
How to check for updates:
To check for updates manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the download option and install it.
Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the My Huawei app. To do this, open the My Huawei app, tap on the update, then select Check for updates, and then download and install.
