January 2021 update rolling out for Huawei Nova 5 Pro, Nova 4e and Mate 20 X 5G

Since November, Huawei is testing the EMUI 11 latest OS for Mate 20 X 5G and Nova 5 Pro registered users. Following the EMUI 11 program, the company has released the beta version that allows the users to experience the brand new custom OS feature ahead of stable rollout.

As recently, Huawei has delivered the stable EMUI 11 version for Mate 20 X 5G and Nova 5 Pro beta tester as well as EMUI 10.1 users and concluded the beta program. However, the rollout currently available for Chinese users and will soon expand to the global market. Read more

According to the EMUI 11 official global rollout schedule, the Mate 20 X 5G smartphone users will get the EMUI 11 major software update in the first quarter of 2021 (March).

For further improvement, Huawei continues to release regular security updates for its devices. Now, the company has begun releasing the January 2021 security update for the models mentioned below.

Adding to this, this update improves the system security by fixing different levels of exploits and issues as well as protect your device against threats.

• Huawei Nova 5 Pro users getting the EMUI 11.0 version 11.0.0.135/136 upgraded from 11.0.0.133/134.
• Huawei Mate 20 X 5G users getting EMUI 11.0.0.136 upgraded from 11.0.0.130
• Huawei Nova 4e users getting EMUI 10 version 10.0.0.167 upgraded from 10.0.0.166.

1. The update is rolling out in batches, so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
2. The update will not erase any data.
3. Keep enough storage on your device.

UPDATE INSTRUCTION:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
