Huawei’s premium smartphone shipment in China surpassed Apple: Q1 2019

After surpassing Apple in the top global smartphone market, Huawei has now outnumbered the US phone maker in the premium smartphone segment as well.

According to the data compiled by Counterpoint research, Huawei has captured double-digit share in the highly concentrated premium market with the help of amazing camera quality, AI, and superior build quality of its flagship ‘Mate’ and ‘P’ series, which brought growth for Huawei during the first quarter.

Also, Huawei even surpassed Apple to become the top player in the premium smartphone market in China, where Apple has been struggling.

For the global premium smartphone market, Apple remains on top with 47% market share followed by Samsung with 25% and third comes Huawei with grown 16% market.

The researcher also said that trade restrictions imposed by the US will slow down its continues growth in the segment and will profit Samsung and Apple the most but industry analysts beliefs that Huawei will regain its growth back in the later year or by 2020.
