Huawei today officially confirmed that two flagship MatePad tablets are coming on August 6. These devices are the next-generation MatePad Pro and Air. Both models claim to pack immersive AI features and better upgrades over the previous tablets.

The Chinese phone maker shared new tablet teasers this morning. As per details, Huawei is ready to unveil two dynamic MatePad products that have been surfing on multiple certification sites for a long time, revealing a few key specs.

Apart from two new MatePad tablets, Huawei will also launch the stable version of the Born to Draw app on August 6. Note that this application is still running in the public beta stage and is compatible with only limited tablets at the moment.

The device list counts MatePad Pro 13.2, MatePad Pro 11 2024, MatePad Pro 12.6 models, and more. Although with a stable version, the company might expand the Born to Draw app to more tablets. Defining new products, Huawei wrote:

“The new #HuaweiMatePad# Pro and #HuaweiMatePad# Air are shining and powerful. AI empowers your tablet to be smarter. The official version of #BornToDraw# App is here to start your creative moment at any time. August 6, 2024, 14:30, please stay tuned!”

Looking into the teaser, the MatePad Pro appears in a sleek design with a thin border all around. It shows support for a stylus and keyboard. These accessories are probably powered by NearLink for seamless connectivity with the tablet.

A few leaks suggest that the MatePad Pro has a 12.2-inch screen with a double-layer OLED screen. The new display solution will solve the issue of unclear visuals and uneven panels. It may sport three colors: Inkstone Black, Xuan White, and Gold.

The device further said to be better than the latest Apple iPad Pro and will feature 12/16 RAM versions with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB internal storage options. It will also support 100W fast charging and a powerful Kirin chip with satellite communication.

The next teaser is of MatePad Air. It appears in four colors: White, Green, Sakura Pink, and Rose Gold. The design is quite different from the previous-gen model. It hypes a Nova 12 Ultra-like lens setup at the back in a horizontal arrangement.

Leaks for the mid-range tablet claims that it adopts 66W charging with an 11.95-inch screen. It will also support NearLink Technology and may bring improved performance capabilities. However, to know the accurate details of these tablets, we need to wait till August 6.
