Huawei Watch GT 5 series passes IMDA certification, launching soon

Huawei Watch GT 5 series has cleared another certification and spotted on the IMDA database. The device already marked its appearance on several platforms so far. It seems the Chinese OEM could unveil the dynamic wearable in the coming weeks.

IMDA refers to the Infocomm Media Development Authority which approves telecommunication and radio equipment based on the foreign test report. After qualifying this evaluation, a company can export its products to Singapore for sale.

Both the standard (VLI-B19) and Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro (VLI-B29) have now appeared on the IMDA certification site. After Indonesia, the latest listing eventually confirms Singapore as another market for the upcoming sports wrist gadgets.

Further details in IMDA reveal that both watches have a Sports Activity Tracker. This tracker looks after fitness activities. It may count steps, measure speed/distance traveled, heart rate, calories, or sleep cycle based on a combination of sensors.

Apart from the tracker, the wearables also support Bluetooth connectivity and a notification display. Other details are missing from the frame. But the speedy certificate approvals show that the Watch GT 5 series is inching close to its launch.

Huawei has already listed the upcoming GT wearable line in the 3C, TUV, and SDPPI databases. As per these certifications, these watches have a wireless charging base and support an 18W power adapter. Also, they come with an IP68 rating.

Early inputs suggested that the Watch GT 5 series will sport the latest HarmonyOS NEXT operating system. Hence, consumers might get new features, smart capabilities, as well as better improvements over the previous-gen models.

This time we also have the Pro variant in the new GT series. It would be interesting to see what upgrades the Watch GT 5 Pro brings over the GT 3 Pro wearable.
