Huawei wants to use Google Mobile Services (GMS) and Play Store with HMS for best user experience
On March 26, Huawei launched its latest P series flagship – Huawei P40 series. These phones come with various new software capabilities including the Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) + AppGallery.
In May 2019, the US government prohibited Google from doing business with Huawei. Following this decision, Huawei decided to use its HMS, HMS Core and AppGallery as a replacement in new smartphones.
However, the officials from Huawei has mentioned several times, that the company still want to do business with Google. And recently, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group – Richard reiterated the same interest in using Google services.
Richard in an interview with Wired told that Huawei has brought a huge revenue and profit to US companies such as Google and both firms have been very good partners.
“So, at Huawei, we still hope that we can continue to cooperate with Google. Hopefully, we can get a license from the US government. We are open. In the interests of the value of those US companies, they should… I hope they can give us the license.” told Yu.
He also said that Huawei wants to use all of Google’s services and Play Store as the primary choice along with HMS to offer vast services and best user experience. “We want to stay on the Android platform.”
Richard added that HMS and AppGallery were developed so quickly and getting better. the number of popular apps are growing on AppGallery and in one or two years, there will be lots of apps available on this app distribution platform.
