Huawei VOLTE and VoWiFi HD feature update out for global phones [EMUI]
Users are waiting for EMUI 13 and Huawei is sending a new software update for the global models of flagship smartphones. However, these aren’t just usual update because it adds important Huawei VoLTE and VoWiFi features.
According to the information, the latest software update comes with VoLTE and VoWiFi HD calling features according to a certain Huawei market or region. Moreover, these features are currently noted for flaghip models such as Mate 40 Pro, Mate 30 Pro, and P40 series.
But we expect them to rollout VoLTE and VoWiFi HD calling features to more models. Changelog reveals that Mate 30 Pro and Mate 40 Pro getting EMUI 12.0.0.282. On the other hand, the P40 series is up for grabs on EMUI 12.0.0.280 package version.
What are VoWiFi and VoLTE?
VoWiFi or Wi-Fi Calling feature enables users to use smartphones that support VoWiFi to dial numbers to use voice or video calls over a Wi-Fi connection. Currently in India, only Jio and Airtel networks are offering VoWiFi services.
VoLTE is the abbreviation of “Voice over LTE”, and offers the possibility to make voice calls via the data communication of the LTE/4G mobile network. VoLTE has up to three times more voice and data capacity than older 3G and up to six times more than 2G.

To check for the software update, refer to Settings > System & updates > from here tap on Software updates, and tap on CHECK FOR UPDATES. Soon after, the phone will check for the latest firmware update and fetch it down for you if available.
To be mentioned, this software is available in certain countries, hence, all smartphone users aren’t eligible to grab it.
