Huawei is unlikely to have a “Xingyao” (Star-Shine) sub-brand in the future. That says a tipster denying all the previous rumors and revelations regarding the company’s new sub-series. He also added some more insights on this matter that are worth noting.

Before jumping to the main part, let’s learn the basics.

Tipster @BeijingDigitalMaster said that Huawei’s sub-brand Xingyao started testing new Kirin chips. The work is in progress and may be completed by October this year.

Although another tipster @FixedFocus refuted this rumor. He said that Huawei doesn’t have any “Xingyao” (Star-Shine) sub-brand. There is only a Star Edition model, which was later confirmed to belong to the Nova lineup – Nova 12 Ultra Star Edition.

Further details reveal that Honor has already registered for this sub-brand. Hence, Huawei will not use this name for its brand. Hence, the Chinese phone maker does not have any Xingyao sub-series, but only a Nova Star Edition for the moment.

The term “Xingyao” has been in headlines since last year. The company trademarked the word for a dual-ring camera phone design. Later, a few inputs claimed that the respective trademark will launch as Huawei’s sub-brand in the coming months.

A few alleged phones with “Huawei Star Shine” (Xingyao) also surfaced online. They said to equip new Kirin chips, HarmonyOS, and more. The inputs also mentioned that the sub-brand will mainly focus on the mid-range market with a reasonable price ($280).
