Huawei triple foldable phone leaked by Yu Chengdong

Amid Huawei triple foldable launch rumors, a new leaked input grabbed our attention. According to some Weibo tipsters, the Huawei Consumer Business Group Chairman Yu Chengdong has been spotted with the new tri-folding handset while traveling.

Several images on the online platform reveal a brand-new foldable device in Yu Chengdong’s hands. The executive was scrolling swiftly through the screen on the airplane. Based on the displayed content, it seemed Yu was using the WeChat app.

Even though the image is slightly blurred, many Weibo tipsters suspected the leaked device to be the Huawei triple foldable. Looking into the snap, it showed a three-line screen. The left side shows a message list while there’s a web page on the right.

The displayed content hints that the split-screen mode will work perfectly with the tri-fold phone. Also, the handset appears large when unfolded – just like a tablet. Hence, users might experience great efficiency while managing office operations on it.

Further details reveal a long-hidden void on the right edge. It could be a stylus-slot. If accurate, the triple-foldable will bring stylus support for more convenience while doing writing work, making notes, and editing documents or images.

The overall device’s design is quite different from any normal book-type foldable or tablet. Also, it has a single punch hole design at the upper far left side. Even though Huawei hasn’t commented on this news, the live image is likely of the tri-fold handset.

Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation added more insights on this matter. He says that the new triple foldable leaked in live images is the same as the prototype he saw before. It has an inner + outer folding mechanism with a dual-hinge outlook.

He also states that the thickness issue is now in control and won’t be a major concern. The device will run on a powerful Kirin 9 series chip and will likely launch before the Mate 70 flagship. Other additions will be AI features and high-end capabilities.

The leaked Huawei tri-fold phone hints that the device is ready to land on the consumer platform. It has already gone through various tests and won’t take much time to show up on the launch stage.
