Huawei tops Chinese smartphone market sales, beats iPhone 15 in the first week of October
The data is in and reveals that Huawei ranked on top in the Chinese smartphone market as of the first week of October, and surpassed Apple in the overall shipment for the entire mentioned duration.
The latest smartphone market data was shared by Chinese research firm CITIC Construction Investment. It shows Huawei with the strongest growth momentum since September. To be mentioned, the select sales accounts are in terms of weeks and not monthly.
The success of Huawei is leading the Chinese phone market in the right direction with a positive year-on-year increase. In Week 40 (from October 2 to October 8), the domestic market saw a downstream of 3% year on year with Apple sales going flat year-on-year.
Huawei Mate 60 series:
The Chinese tech maker is noting strong sales in the country after the launch of Huawei Mate 60 Pro on August 29. The year-on-year growth rate of Huawei in the past four weeks (from 15 September to 30) including Week 37, Week 38, Week 39, and Week 40 reached 91%, 46%, 83%, and 95% respectively.
The latest Huawei flagship built up a strong momentum and ranked first in the W40 sales share at 19.4%. This surpassed Apple’s 17.4% for the new iPhone 15 series during the same week.
Also, Huawei is the only smartphone maker to sell over 1 million devices in a single week. Specifically, Huawei’s count of smartphones could be 1.104 million units. On the other hand, Apple followed the sales of 990,000 units.
In the first three weeks, Huawei kept its sales steady and reached on top in Week 40 of this year. The company climbed to the first spot in just three weeks of time span.
The market researcher expected that Huawei will maintain its high growth of smartphone shipment with the Mate 60 series. It’s also mentioned that the company will keep on growing its delivery capabilities to ensure more shipments.
Therefore completing the Week 40 milestone is a big achievement for the Huawei Mate 60 series and the company. However, it came after a long time and a wait of three years.
