Huawei tops Apple in China’s largest device ecosystem vendor race: Report
After the software race, Huawei defeated Apple in China’s largest device ecosystem vendor game. As per a new report, the Chinese OEM impressively expanded its hardware products like phones, tablets, and wearables in the native region.
Canalys has recently shared the ranking of the Smart Device Ecosystem vendors for the first quarter of this year. Phone makers like Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, Honor, Lenovo, Vivo, and Huawei are on the list for Chinese and global markets.
While Apple performed well in the global listing, it fell off from China’s largest device ecosystem vendor ranking due to heavy competition from Huawei and others.
Inputs reveal that Huawei achieved an 18% market share in Greater China for Q1 2024 as the largest device ecosystem manufacturer. The firm overtook Apple regarding consumer demand and expanded its devices to obtain comprehensive growth.
Apple, on the other hand, is leading the global market with 36% revenue and 17% shipment rate. The iPhone producer is also at the top for the highest attachment rate. Xiaomi ranks second in this field while Samsung appears in the third spot.
Canalys notes that the Chinese and global markets are currently at the same pace. While global tech giants tried to retain their positions in the market, Chinese firms have built a strong device ecosystem to match up with the global trends.
