Huawei to upgrade of old devices memory for HarmonyOS upgrade

Huawei P50 series is launching today and this unveiling will officially mark the memory expansion program for older Huawei smartphones in China.

According to Weibo blogger – Digital King, at the Huawei P50 series conference, Huawei will announce a memory expansion program for old Huawei devices. This program was previously tested in some parts of the country but now will rollout for the entire country.

This move could be Huawei’s plan to upgrade the existing devices so that they can use HarmonyOS with accounted storage.

Huawei P50 series will also be equipped with HarmonyOS 2 operating system, so there are plenty of chances that this new flagship will bring a number of new features for the consumer that aren’t available for the current HarmonyOS 2 version.

In the meantime, a tipster has already leaked the specifications of the Huawei P50 Pro, which includes a 6.6-inch OLED display with 2700 x 1228 resolution.

It has a 120Hz high refresh rate, along with a 300Hz touch sampling rate as well as 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a pixel density of 459PPI.

Huawei P50 Pro is powered by the Kirin 9000 SoC, supported by 8GB of RAM and 256/512GB of internal storage.

Huawei P50 Pro equips a quad-camera system including 50MP main Ultra Vision camera with f/1.8 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 40MP monochrome sensor (f/1.6 aperture), a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.2 aperture), 64MP telephoto 3.5X Optical Zoom, f/3.5 aperture, OIS, and 100x digital zoom.

The phone pre-packs a 4360mAh battery solution, which could be recharged with a 66W SuperCharge and also supports 50W superfast wireless charging technology.

Its other features include stereo speaker, display fingerprint sensor, nano memory card expansion, IP68 rating, USB Type-C 3.1 port, and more.
