Huawei to launch first flagship smart car with SERES this year

Today, Huawei and SERES signed an agreement to expand their business and announced their first flagship smart car collaboration. According to the information, Huawei and SERES could launch their first flagship smart car model under the new platform later this year. This new model will feature a high-end smart driving system and these two firms have also planned to launch successor models in the coming year.

Under a long-term partnership, Huawei and SERES are looking to sell over 1 million EVs by the year 2026, which is an amazing goal. To achieve that, SERES will gather industrial resources and promote the application of new technologies materials, and processes in cooperative models.

On the other hand, Huawei devices will provide advantages for smart, digital, and better user experience design including high-end smart driving and a HarmonyOS-powered cockpit. These two firms will also build a joint innovation center to promote technologies.

This mega business contract signing is marked by Huawei Smart Car Business Unit CEO, Yu Chengdong and SERES Group chairman Zhang Xinghai.

“SERES is the first car company to cooperate with Huawei for the deepest investment and the most productive models. The two companies have formed a good foundation for cross-border cooperation in the past and have sufficient mutual trust. Both will continue to cooperate for a long time in the future” said Yu Chengdong.

SERES and Huawei started their journey in 2021, and since then, Huawei is providing smart driving systems to car makers and established the AITO Wenjie car brand.

Up until now, AITO has launched three models – M5, M7, and M5 EV, which shows a two-way of vehicle types coming out from this new Chinese car maker. In 2022, AITO Wenjie achieved a big milestone after accumulating sales of over 75000, making it the fastest-growing EV brand.
