Huawei to build dedicated car store, different than mobile
In the wake of the growing car business, Huawei is planning to build a dedicated car store for its ecosystem partners. This move will help all of the car makers with Huawei technologies to get a free promotion and sales hike.
According to the information coming from Chinese media, Huawei has planned to build a unified sales car store initially for AITO, which is a Huawei ecosystem car brand.
However, the company has planned to open this channel for all of Huawei’s other/new car partners. For that Huawei is considering recruiting “AITO” dealers from the original Huawei terminal dealers and external investors at the same time, adopting the franchise agency model.
People related to this matter revealed that this model is neither a traditional car 4S store franchise model nor is it different from the direct sales model adopted by Tesla and new car-making forces. Although Huawei does not need to invest heavily in building a store but will have a strong say in the channel.
AITO is a cooperation between Huawei and Chinese car maker, SERES, which has been sold in about 1000 Huawei stores last year. However, with the increase of Huawei’s smart car model partners, the exhibition hall area of mobile phone stores is no longer enough.
Huawei’s smart car business is building a car sales store that is different from the current mobile store. It is dedicated to the sale of Huawei’s smart car ecosystem alliance models, including the AITO and upcoming partnerships with Chery, JAC, Jihu, and more.
Past information revealed that SERES will also launch the M7 smart driving version and the new M9 this year. The chairman of Chery recently confirmed that the first model it cooperates with Huawei will come out this year, and it will be positioned as a pure electric car. According to the plan, the two parties will at least Five high-end smart electric vehicles will be launched.
Insiders revealed that the way of channel laying includes new construction and expansion of old stores, but the old stores require a sufficiently large and independent area for cars. Huawei will give priority to recruiting from the original mobile phone store investors and also open up some quotas to external investors.
Currently, Huawei has not revealed any details on building a dedicated car store but it’s likely to be done via official channels.
