Huawei system app uninstallation feature rolling out
Huawei has begun to rollout the system app uninstallation feature for Huawei devices, an up-to-the-mark mission that the Chinese tech maker just completed.
According to the information, there’s a new app option for managing certain pre-installed apps. A tipster suggests that there are only a few apps that currently support this capability.
Currently, Huawei Mate 50 Series is the first one to get the system app uninstallation feature in the flagship tier. However, it will later let other users grab the firmware gradually.
Under the current changes, users can uninstall apps such as themes, clocks, calendars, and more. However, prominent apps such as Camera, Dialer, and AppGallery can’t be uninstalled and it makes sense.
Still, the feature could get some new improvements in the near future rollouts of such firmware but currently, this is all we have and it’s in the initial stage.
Meanwhile, it’s great accessibility for Huawei smartphone users to be able to uninstall the system apps. While you can already delete any third-party app similar to any other Android smartphone.
How does it work?
All you have to do is to uninstall an app and it will go to the system’s storage. Afterward, you can reinstall the app from the Settings menu, and back to the stock firmware version with just a tap on the screen.
Global?
Currently, Huawei is only sending this feature for HarmonyOS 3 devices but the company could later bring it on to overseas users with EMUI 13 but there’s more to know on this matter.
