Huawei surpasses Apple in annual smartphones sales with 240 million units shipment

The latest research from Strategy Analytics shows that Huawei sold over 240 million smartphones in 2019 compared to 205 million in 2018.

This new sales record is higher than Apple’s 197 million shipments and helped the Chinese tech giant to grip its second top smartphone maker spot in 2019. Meanwhile, Samsung remains on top and shipped over 295 million smartphones around the globe.

In the fourth quarter of 2019, Huawei has shipped 56 million smartphones globally + 15% of the total market share compared to the 60.5 million shipments and 16.1% share during the same quarter in 2018.

Moreover, Huawei keeps its dominance over China, increasing its market share to 39% and 11% Year on Year growth rate by shipping 33.3 million smartphone units.
