Huawei has started cutting ties and public relations in the U.S. and Canada in favor of increasing its growth in the Chinese market. The company took this step after acknowledging the low possibilities for a breakthrough in the U.S. market.

As per the latest inputs, Huawei implemented this decision a few months ago. The Chinese tech giant had gradually begun reducing the public relations staff in North America. However, this process caught speed after the new year.

In the list of staff reductions, some employees have worked with Huawei for over a decade and seemed quite upset. But more than disheartening, this new decision could further worsen the U.S.-China relations.

Huawei boosted its connections with North America in 2019, following the U.S. ban. The tech maker has been looking at the U.S. as a significant market and believes that it could make a quantum leap in this subject in the time ahead.

But in recent years, the rising tensions between the U.S. and China brought in more hurdles for Huawei and diminished its efforts to make a breakthrough in the foreign ground. Besides, new obstacles continued to curb the company’s business growth.

Consequently, these incidents reflect that it’s impractical to gain a position in the U.S. merchandise. As a result, Huawei started gradually reducing its public relations in the U.S. and Canada.

U.S. is no longer an important market for Huawei!

Talking about the latest verdict, the former public relations manager at Huawei – Chris Pereira said that the goal of achieving a breakthrough in the U.S. market now seems impossible and may even be unnecessary. Chris also sees this decision as a way to cut costs.

“Looking at their revenue, the U.S. and Canada are actually not important for Huawei. I think from the business perspective, my prediction is Huawei will focus more on the Middle East, Southeast Asia, maybe South America, and Eastern Europe”, said Chris Pereira.

Despite several challenges in the trade market and U.S. restrictions, Huawei made a strong comeback in the smartphone business market with the all-new Mate 60 Pro 5G phone. As of now, the company is keeping its eyes on new goals that can make it stand firm in the Chinese market.
