Counterpoint has released a new report showing Huawei, Apple, and other brands’ performance in the Chinese Double 11 Sale 2024. While the Mate phone maker has achieved impressive grades, the iPhone producer once again dipped in this pool.

Double 11 or the Chinese Single’s Day falls on November 11 (11.11). Every year, the country celebrates this occasion with a grand shopping fest. Even though the celebration is for one day – 11.11, the preparations and sale began a month ago.

Earlier a report said that Huawei and Apple are wrestling in the top 10 flagship phone list. After the Chinese Single’s Day, Counterpoint has now released the result of the shopping battle between some top brands and their premium handsets.

The research firm notes that Huawei has ‘enjoyed the biggest growth of 7% YoY’ in Chinese Double 11 Sale 2024, while Apple dipped with a double-digit loss.

Counterpoint further said that Huawei has generously cut prices of Pura 70 and Mate 60 models, helping it achieve impressive growth. The Nova 13 series launch also worked as fuel to the fire due to its Kirin 5G chip and amazing AI camera features.

Meanwhile, Apple sales went down by double-digit percentages this time. It faced pressure from many competitors that launched their flagship phones before and during the shopping fest. Anyways, iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max were still the ‘best-selling’ handsets in the two-week festival.

Apart from Huawei and Apple, OPPO grabbed a 6% increment in sales for its cost-effective A series, Reno 12, and the dynamic Find X8 lineup. Vivo also rose by 5% YoY – thanks to Y series, X200 phones, and iQOO sales in the consumer market.

Xiaomi, Honor, and Apple suffered with a fall. The overall sales of the Chinese smartphone market went down by 9% YoY. A major reason behind this drop is:

“To capitalize on one of the biggest sales festivals of the year, major Chinese OEMs except Huawei launched their latest flagships ahead of the festival. The early launch of flagship models affects the sales volume of older models to some extent.” – says Counterpoint.
