After 2 long years, Huawei finally started seeing some positive numbers in the chart and Q2 2023 smartphone market result shows that its device sales grew forward, while others declined.

Counterpoint Research is saying that Huawei emerged as the biggest quarterly growth maker in Q2 2023. The company achieved 58% Quarter over Quarter growth as compared to last year.

Among all of the competitors, only Huawei, Apple and Realme attained YoY sales growth. Meanwhile, Xiaomi, Honor, Oppo, and Vivo all face severe decline.

Specifically, Vivo reigns in the top position with a 17.7% share driven by the sales of the Y35 series, Y8 series, and S17 series. OPPO (including OnePlus) and Apple were in a tie in Q2, each capturing a 17.2% share.

The researcher notes that the latest numbers are the result of Huawei’s regular launch events and normal schedule. The company is now utilizing its well-established brand image and offline channels across the country to sell more products to consumers.

“Leveraging its well-established brand image and strong offline footprint, especially in top-tier cities, Huawei witnessed a surge in sales after resolving its product shortages.” wrote Counterpoint.

Amid a lot of challenges, Huawei grew smartphone sales by a major difference. However, we’re waiting for further improvements in the market statics of the Chinese tech giant by the end of this year.

On the flip side, the entire smartphone sales in China fell 4% YoY in Q2 2023. The sales continued to decline in April and May, while the 618 e-commerce festival provided a boost in June.
