Huawei says iPhone will decline with the launch of new phones
Huawei is bringing back the old vibes to the company and saying that one of its top nemeses Apple will see a decline in iPhone sales soon as the company will release the next device.
After the launch of the Huawei P60 series, He Gang, Chief Operation Officer of Huawei told reporters that Huawei P40 and Mate 40 series phones were closed to match iPhones in the Chinese market. After the U.S. sanctions, the company was forced to decline in the industry, and it was very unfortunate.
He was then asked about the competitive strategy to face off against Apple in the premium smartphone market. He Gang replied that there was a time when Huawei shared this market segment with Apple above 5000 yuan. But then after the supply chain fell, Huawei’s smartphone share declined.
The company wasn’t able to build new phones specially in the 5G segment and that benefited Huawei’s rivals. He said as long as Huawei will release new phones, iPhone sales will decline and it seems only Huawei can compete with Apple.
The Huawei COO also explained that the generations of Huawei premium products have accumulated a large number of high-end users. You can see that Huawei’s high-end smartphones will become the number one in the future.
Last year, Apple registered a QoQ growth of 67% due to the high demand for the new iPhone 14 series. Apple’s market share in China reached 22% in Q4 2022. This market was 12% in the same quarter in 2021. This is a massive surge in market share.
However, in the same quarter, Huawei also saw a growth of 25% in its shipment and acquired 8.7 percent of the Chinese smartphone market. This cannot be ignored from any aspect of the development whatever is possible. While in Q3, Huawei also saw an increase in sales with its Huawei Nova series.
