Huawei Mate X6 is available in three colors: Grey, Black, and Red. The device adopts a star-ring camera design on the back. It has a bigger and thinner look than its predecessors. It has a 7.93-inch main screen with a 6.45-inch external display panel.

Mate X6 has a four-lens arrangement on the rear side including a 50MP ultra aperture primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide-angle shooter, a 48MP telephoto macro sensor, and a 1.5MP multi-spectral lens. The front side has two 8MP lenses for internal and external screens (one for each).

The device equips a 5110mAh battery with 66W super-fast charging. It also supports 50W wireless superfast charging. The device has received an IPX8 rating.
