Huawei reportedly revised smartphone shipment target for the third time this year after Mate 60 success

With the strong sales of the Huawei Mate 60 series flagship, the tech maker has once again revised its smartphone shipment target for this year for the third time.

Sources familiar with this revealed that Huawei has raised the overall shipment goal for 2023 and increased shipments for the second half of the year. This new target is heavily influenced by the Huawei Mate 60 series, raising the forecast by up to 20% more Mate 60 sales in the second half from the current point of view.

At the beginning of this year, Huawei internally decided on 30 million units shipment for 2023. In June, the tech maker revised it to 40 million units. Now, Huawei wants to go two steps further with a new target, which is currently unknown.

Huawei revised the shipment target in line with the ongoing trend in Huawei Mate 60 series popularity. After the launch of Huawei Mate 60 Pro on August 29, Huawei gradually released new models – Standard Mate 60, Mate 60 Pro+, and Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design throughout September.
