Huawei has reportedly increased the Mate X6 foldable production orders. It seems the company is gearing up the launch preparations of the next-gen book-type foldable. The respective device will likely bring various smart features and tech solutions.

Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation says that Huawei is increasing the Mate X6 production. The company has added more orders to the supply chain. It aims to control well the foldable phone market in China, avoiding supply shortage problems.

The sudden rise in production orders implies that the Chinese tech giant may unveil the Mate X6 foldable phone in November. Last year, the company launched the Mate X5 in September 2023, one month after the Mate 60 series unveiling.

But this time, the OEM may launch both products in the same month. There could be a difference of a few days. Huawei may also initiate the Pioneer Program treatment for the Mate X6 as well as the Mate 70 series, just like their predecessors.

The tipster further states that Mate X6 won’t get any competitor for a while. It hints at a foldable from another brand that is in the making and may launch in Q1 2025 to compete with Mate X6. This device will likely equip the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Meanwhile, other book-type folding phones could be released by the second or third quarter of the next year. Other details are unknown but we may grab them in future.

After Mate 70, Mate X6 could be another model to come with HarmonyOS NEXT out of the box. The device is said to feature a super flat screen and can even sport the UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) solution for an easy folding mechanism and high durability.

The device may continue the same circular camera module on the rear side. Although Huawei could make enhancements to the imaging capabilities as well as add new AI features to this product.
