Huawei reported to sell its server business, will keep and grow Kunpeng chip

Huawei server business applications include innovative architecture design, AI processer, intelligent management software, cloud, and computing applications. These are the backbone of Huawei’s dominance in various fields of technologies.

However, the unfavorable conditions are forcing the company to give some of its business. After selling the Honor brand, it was reported that this Chinese tech firm may sell Huawei’s server and product line business. On the matter, a related source revealed that the acquiring party is likely to be Suzhou SASAC.

Furthermore, people similar to this subject are speculating that Huawei only intends to give up on the x86 server business and will continue to grow its Kunpeng Chip business. It’s said that the x86 server business has been unable to make new products after the US put restrictions.

Unlike the x86, Huawei’s self-developed Kunpeng computing business is doing good. It provides other hardware vendors to develop their own products and solutions using the Kunpend Developer kit. Adding to this, it is also the main provider of openEuler OS and platform software for the software vendors.

The company is confident with the Kunpeng business and will explore it further. In this line, the Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei also stated before, Huawei Kunpeng business will continue to do without any hindrance and keep a steady flow.
