Huawei remains champion of Chinese foldable market in Q3 2024
Huawei has won big in the Q3 2024 Chinese foldable market and defeated many rivals. The company has continued its championship on the home turf for the foldable phone race. It owns the largest share in the Chinese folding handset franchise.
CINNO Research has shared its analysis of the Chinese foldable market for Q3 2024 and Huawei is leading this segment. The tech giant has shipped a huge amount of foldable in the third quarter of this year, surpassing all its competitors in the game.
Inputs reveal that Huawei has again grabbed the first position in the Q3 2024 Chinese folding phone market. It shipped around 1.12 million units in the third quarter of this year. This time, the sales progressed 97% YoY, the highest among all brands.
The research firm says that Huawei maintained its championship in the Chinese foldable market, especially in the book-type folding phone for five years straight.
According to CINNO, Mate X5 has led the company to the top position in the Chinese foldable market. The device has been in high demand since its launch and remained the “sales champion” for four quarters in a row.

Mate X5 eventually helped Huawei to earn the highest market share in the third quarter of 2024 – 85%. Now the company is ready to showcase the Mate X6 foldable on November 26. It may further boost the OEM’s growth in this segment.
With Mate X6, Huawei will likely obtain more achievements in the Chinese foldable phone market in the future. The device is said to bring significant changes over its predecessors. For instance, new chip, HarmonyOS NEXT, and more.
Honor is in second place in the Chinese foldable market for its Magic V3 and Vs3 folding phones. Other rankers in the top 5 Chinese foldable brands listing are vivo, Xiaomi, and Samsung.
