Huawei releases new update for Mate 20 series with October 2020 security patch in China
Huawei has begun sending new software update for Huawei Mate 20 series users running on EMUI 10.1. This update mainly offers the security patch released in October 2020, which enhances the system security.
In the meantime time, Huawei Mate 20 series registered users are underway for EMUI 11 beta testing in China. The Mate 20 series users already received the first and second EMUI 11 beta versions that bring new EMUI 11 features and the company will soon release the EMUI 11 stable version as well.
On the other hand, as per Huawei’s official EMUI 11 global rollout schedule, Huawei Mate 20 global users will grab EMUI 11 in the first quarter of 2021. Moreover, Huawei has already kicked off the October 2020 security patch for Huawei Mate 20 series users in Europe.

HOW TO UPDATE HUAWEI MATE 20 SERIES:
To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.
Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
THINGS TO KNOW:
- Currently, this update is rolling out in China.
- The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
- The update will not erase any data.
