Huawei released October 2020 security update for Huawei Mate Xs
October 2020 security update has now started to roll out for Huawei’s foldable smartphone, Huawei Mate Xs. This security update improves system security and fixes the different levels of exploits and issues.

Huawei Mate Xs devices getting new EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.142 upgraded from 10.1.0.138 in China and install the October 2020 security patch that fixes 21 high-levels and 1 medium level of CVE’s.

In the meantime, Huawei is testing EMUI 11 beta for registered Mate Xs users and released the EMUI 11 first and second beta software update. The company will soon roll out the stable EMUI 11 version for Mate Xs users.
Aside from this, Huawei has released the October security patch for users that are running on EMUI 10.1 and Mate Xs users, which are not selected for EMUI 11 beta. Read more

POINTS TO KNOW BEFORE UPDATING YOUR DEVICE:
- The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
- The update will not erase any data.
HOW TO UPDATE:
Download via Settings:
- Open Settings
- Click on the System & updates
- Open Software update
- Tap on Check for updates option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
Download via Support app:
- Open the Support app on your device
- Go to the Service tab
- Click on the update button
- Tap on Check for update option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
