Huawei ranks second in Q1 2024 global OLED tablet panel shipment race

DSCC has recently released the Q1 2024 OLED tablet panel shipments global listing where Huawei has scored the second spot. The report also predicts constant progress in this field with even new records for the second quarter of this year.

Inputs show that Huawei ranked second in the Q1 2024 global OLED tablet panel shipments race with a 25% procurement share. A major credit goes to the MatePad Pro 11, which obtained 11% of the OLED panels acquiring share.

The report further speculates that Huawei will continue to be the second ranker in the next quarter (Q2) with a jump of 13% in the OLED tablet panel shipments globally.

It also mentions that the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet will likely take third place in Q2 2024 with a 5% share. With better and more reliable display solutions, the Chinese OEM may soon grab first place in the global OLED tablet panels shipment battle.

Apple leads, Huawei second!

The iPad maker is ruling the Q1 2024 OLED tablet panel ranking (first position) with a 47% procurement share – thanks to the newly launched OLED iPad Pro models.

Samsung settled on the third spot with a 17% share whereas, Microsoft has gradually grown in this field with the launch of Surface Pro Copilot+ 11th edition tablet.

OLED Tablet Panel Shipment – new progress!

DSCC notes that the OLED tablet panel shipment in the first quarter of this year has risen by 131% YoY. It is a new record in the tablet’s panel revenue shares. This figure seems just the beginning and may reach 127% in Q2 with a 333% YoY increase.

The analytical company believes this growth as Apple plans to boost its iPad Pro tablet production in the next quarter. With such a pace, the OLED tablets might gain more share by 2028 with better price gaps and narrow LCD concepts.

The global market has already sold 1.72 million OLED tablet units in the first three months of 2024 and this number could increase by 3.9 million in the next quarter.
