Huawei Qiankun ADS grabs new features with August 2024 update

Huawei is rolling out the August 2024 update for the Qiankun ADS car solution. The company has added some more useful and interesting tools to the respective driving solutions. These additions will likely boost the overall driving experience.

The Chinese OEM continues to add new features to its driving solutions to keep them up-to-date. With new and advanced changes, these smart car solutions deliver a better, safer, and more convenient driving experience to users.

Speaking of the features, the Huawei Qiankun ADS August 2024 update brings a new mechanical parking feature that recognizes space in various parking lots.

Mechanical Parking Lot

• Added a new mechanical parking space recognition with parking in and out features.
• Fixed parking issues with a one-click ADS feature. Users will observe a smart parking experience after this upgrade.

Mechanical Parking feature is a premium package feature. Cars equipped with the ADS premium package like AITO M5, Luxeed S7, Avatr 11, and Avatr 12 models will only support the respective parking assistance feature.

One-Touch Reverse Tracking

• Users can easily back out on narrow roads without any worries. ADS now makes reversing as smooth as silk, solving the problems of U-turns on narrow roads and allowing you to enjoy driving freedom.
• It supports the longest reversing distance of 120 meters.

AVP Upgrade

• Added support for intelligent driving in the basement of the park.
• It identifies obstacles, avoids wrong turns, and goes directly to the parking space – thanks to the upgraded algorithms.
• The feature helps to automatically roam and find a new parking space if the original one is occupied.

Note that AVP is a high-end feature and only supports the ADS premium package. It doesn’t support open-air parking lots with entrances and exits.

Trunk Safety:

• The smart parking feature (which uses the 360-degree panoramic sensor) displays obstacles approaching from behind the car.
• After recognizing the obstacles, it immediately text alerts to avoid collisions.

Smart and Intelligent Driving (NCA)

• NCA supports emergency driving in a lane or non-motorized vehicle lane to prevent traffic. The service is available when NCA identifies a row of cones or lane change requirements. It returns to the normal lane after avoiding obstacles or traffic.
• Added an ADS slow-down reminders
• Pre-speed reduction alert and feature before the tunnel to adapt to a more comfortable speed limit.
