Huawei Pura 80 series has seemingly stepped in the making process and a new leak says that the flagship lineup will adopt customized main camera sensors. The company will likely use premium-level components for its next smartphone lineup.

The Chinese phone maker introduced the Pura brand in April this year. It has come as a new definition to photography with tech-pack camera tools and capabilities.

Now the company is planning to raise the photography standard with the Pura 80 series using a new main camera and periscope sensors. A Weibo tipster states that the company is teaming up with major manufacturers to develop advanced camera lenses for its upcoming flagship smartphones.

SmartPikachu noted that Huawei and OmniVision (a major CMOS camera maker) will collaborate to build a new customized main camera sensor and periscope telephoto lens for the Pura 80 series. The tipster didn’t reveal any other details on this topic.

OmniVision is familiar with designing and making digital imaging products for phones, tablets, laptops, webcams, and more. It has been one of the most important suppliers of Huawei and provided camera sensors for Mate 60 series, P60 series, Pura 70, and more. Perhaps it will continue to be the main camera supplier for Huawei.

CMOS Sensors

Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) cameras convert the light signals into electrical signals to produce images. It can extract light for each pixel and helps to maintain the perfect proportion of light and shadow in the images.

It eventually delivers less noise in the images, making them smoother and more detailed. These sensors can offer high-resolution shots even at low power consumption.

Huawei Pura 70 series

The Pura 70 Pro model uses the OmniVision 50H main camera sensor and the Ultra variant adopts the Sony IMX 989 primary shooter. Both lenses offer the best photography results with perfect light intake and blur effects.

Huawei Pura 80 series has a lot of time to step into the real world. As per the last Pura device launch, the new lineup could debut in the second quarter of the next year. Till then, we may find more accurate details on the Pura 80 series camera aspect.
