Huawei publishes new patent for IoT vehicles as Method and Device for Traffic Light Detection

As per the latest information shared China patent office, recently, Huawei made public a new patent related to IoT smart vehicles on the 15th of June 2021. This new patent entitled “Method and Device for Traffic Light Detection” with the publication number CN112970030A was applied back on the 10th of February this year.

The patent descriptions reveal a method and equipment for traffic light detection related to the autonomous driving solution. It’s noteworthy that Huawei already owns the master-level autonomous driving system.

Coming back to this new technology, with the help of a neural network, it’ll identify and distinguish the traffic signals for better controls and will make spontaneous decisions.

This solution is suitable for the Internet of Things Vehicles that includes vehicle outreach (V2X), long-term evolution technology (LTE-V), and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V).

The working mechanism that is observed for the abstract can be defined in the following terms-

1. It uses a neural network to get the primary range of the image to be detected
2. The primary range contains N traffic light collections
3. N is a positive integer while the traffic light group includes at least one traffic light head
4. The neural network will detect the traffic light information according to the primary range
5. Here the traffic light information includes the number of traffic light heads in the traffic light collections
