Huawei Pocket 2 foldable launches with increased cover display, quad cameras, stylish design and more
Huawei today released the Pocket 2 vertical foldable phone featuring an improved main display, increased cover display size, better rear cameras, and stylish design.
The main display is 6.94-inch with a 1-120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and 2200 nits brightness pixels level for adaptive adjustment. The screen has a 2690×1136 pixels resolution and 420 PPI. Huawei says its new display is 25 percent more energy efficient as compared to the past technology.
The cover display is now 1.15 inches upgrading from 1.04 inches in P50 Pocket and Pocket S.
The entire device weighs 199 grams and it is 7.35mm thin. It also has IPX8 water resistance for up to meters and an optimized 3D heat dissipation system.
This new vertical Huawei foldable comes in four colors: Tahitian Grey, Rococo White, Taro Purple, and Elegant Black. These are paired with stylish accessories.
Hinge:
The hinge of this device is upgraded with strong rocket steel material by up to 20 percent more strength. Its gears now have dual-arm levers to support light opening and closing with a more stable experience.
The main display quality has been protected with anti-collision protection with 400 percent screen space and 112 percent improved fall resistance.
Camera:
Huawei Pocket 2 comes with XMAGE quad camera setup including an 8MP 3x optical zoom camera with f/2.4 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS).
The second is a 50MP main camera with f/1.6 large aperture and OIS with multispectral sensors. Third is a 12MP ultra-wide angle macro camera with f/2.2 aperture.
Fourth is a Hyperspectral camera with 350-390nm UV band and f/2.0 aperture. This second-generation hyperspectral camera combines an AI fusion perception algorithm and it can uniquely detect ultraviolet intensity and deep sunburn possibility on the subject’s face. On the front side, you will get a 10.7MP selfie camera.
Battery and Charging
Huawei Pocket 2 packs a split battery with a combined capacity of 4520mAh and supports both 66W and 40W fast charging.
Software:
This phone equips HarmonyOS 4 out of the box and features different widgets for the cover screen along with picture modes and personalization features. You can also view the live window directly on the cover screen or pay via barcode.
Pocket 2 Art:
Carrying these capabilities, Huawei also announced the Pocket 2 Art custom edition with 3D dynamic space technology, Kunlun glass, and an exclusive gift box.
Other than these functionalities, Pocket 2 also offers two-way satellite SMS technology.
Price:
Huawei Pocket 2 starts at 7,499 yuan ($1,043, €961) for 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB priced at 7,999 yuan ($1,112, €1,025), and 12GB+1TB version at 8,999 yuan ($1,251, €1,153). The pre-sale will start today and the open sale is scheduled for March 1st in China.
Huawei Pocket 2 Art version priced at 10,999 yuan ($1,529, €1,409) for 16GB+1TB memory, and its sales will also start on March 1st.
