From the launch of the Huawei P50 series, Huawei has been largely invested in Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets. The change in strategy came after the Chinese tech maker consumed most of its Kirin inventory. Since the company cannot print new chipsets, Huawei had to rely on Qualcomm to launch phones, which is likely to continue in 2023.

It’s expected that Huawei will continue to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset for all of the devices launching in 2023. This will lead us to flaghip devices that will enter first in the arena.

For example, Huawei is preparing two flagship devices in the first quarter. First is the Huawei Mate X3 foldable phone and second is the Huawei P60 series.

As per the past report, Huawei could use Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset on the Mate X3, and the chip configurations for the P60 series remain unknown. However, it’s possible for the phone maker to arrange a Gen 2 model hand.

Other than these, Huawei also has mid-range devices such as Nova 11 or probably Nova 20 series that will also require to use of Qualcomm chipset. Later on, the home ground special, the Huawei Enjoy series is also in the queue to present a new model.

Furthermore, Huawei will close the year with the new Huawei Mate series flaghip, which is also predicted to be powered by a Qualcomm chip. Meanwhile, there are also some models that could launch in between these schedules in any category.

Usecase:

As compared to last year, 2022 is filled with Qualcomm chipsets and Huawei has launched various smartphones including Huawei Mate 50 and Nova 10 series with the latest Snapdragon mobile processors. That’s not it, the chipset powered the latest Huawei Pocket S flip-style foldable with cheap pricing.

The absence of Kirin has brought in new cooperation between Qualcomm and Huawei, which will continue to expand throughout 2023.
