Huawei P80 series rumored to use brand-new OV50X camera sensor

There is still time in the Huawei P70 lineup launch and inputs regarding the next P-series already started surfing on board. The latest detail hints that Huawei P80 series might adopt the brand-new OV50X camera sensor for dynamic imaging capabilities.

Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu talks about the OV50X lens, which is the new-generation sensor jointly developed by Huawei and Haowei (HW). The post further reads that the OV50X camera sensor won’t be part of the Mate 70 series and probably, will be used for the Huawei P80 series in the time ahead.

OV50X Camera Sensor

The OV50X lens – termed as the king of 1-inch outsole is the brand-new creation of Haowei (HW). It adopts a 22nm technology along with a 1-inch super large platform. On the greener side, the latest camera sensor runs on the LOFIC technology.

Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) is a useful tech in the imaging sector that improves the dynamic range of the sensor through changes in the circuit structure of the pixels. It also integrates a robust capacitor to the pixel.

Thus, this capacitor automatically collects excess charges to avoid overexposure and enhance the highlights segment in the image. Eventually, the lens offers more enriched and stunning outcomes while capturing images.

A few rumors suggest that the next Mate lineup could bring a triple-lens arrangement with an OV50K 1-inch main camera sensor along with variable aperture and hybrid lens. Thus, the OV50X is unlikely to be imposed on the Mate 70 series.

However, we could see the effective implementation with the Huawei P80 series. Though it is still a rumor and there is a long while before the launch of the next-gen P models. Hence, it won’t be right to mark any confirmation on this subject.
