Huawei P70 series to boost flagship camera lens demand

Huawei P70 series is likely to boost the premium camera lens demand in the market – thanks to its upgraded optical framework. The company is hearsay to borrow the advanced glass-plastic hybrid lens from Largan Precision, which is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of lenses.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared a new report, pointing out that the flagship Huawei P70 series will help in raising the demand for the premium camera lens in the market. Perhaps, Largan will be the primary firm to benefit from this strategy.

The information reveals that the high-end models in the P70 lineup may use an all-new glass-plastic hybrid lens. This lens is likely to ship in large quantities in the first half of this year with Largan as the main supplier.

Eventually, the average sales of these lenses will hype by 20-30%, which will add more revenue and profits to the Largan industry in H1 2024. Meanwhile, the new projects from Samsung and Apple will also help Largan to become a crucial lens supplier this year.

Glass-Plastic Hybrid Lens

Hybrid lenses are known for providing high-end performance at low cost. These optical sensors offer sharp details with a smooth glaze in images. In addition, it comes in a durable structure and feather-like weight intending to deliver higher quality shots.

On the other hand, the hybrid lens covers the diffractive or refractive problems with high-efficiency functionalities and easily outperforms the conventional achromats.

As per previous reports, Huawei has already picked the 1G6P lens for the P70 Art handset. The device may bring the combination of Sony IMX 989 and 1G6P hybrid lens on the surface. Notably, the hybrid addition will grasp the capability of the IMX 989 lens.

Kuo further cited that the upcoming P-series will obtain a shipment growth of 150% YoY in 2024. A major credit of this ultimate hike will be the tech-pack capabilities and the premium-level optical arrangement. Since Largan is working as the main supplier for Huawei P70’s hybrid lens, it will also get benefits in this development.

Consequently, Huawei’s return to the market will not only set the company’s sales revenue to a new place but will also help other tech vendors and suppliers in the market to achieve new milestones this year.
