Huawei is developing the Huawei P70 series as the next major flagship milestone and this new flagship would even surpass the Huawei P60 in terms of sales performance, says a well-known analyst.

Ming-Chi Kuo is saying that Huawei will launch three models in the P70 series including a standard, a Pro, and an Art variant. All of these will see mass shipments in the first half of 2024. It means that the company is unlikely to miss the schedule from the first quarter of the year.

Traditionally, Huawei released P-series devices around March and April. After 2020, the company derailed a bit from its unveiling events for flagship devices due to an uncertain supply chain. This led to only two P series phones in the past three years.

Huawei P70 sales surpass

In March this year, Huawei introduced new P60 series phones consisting of three variants. The devices are well received by consumers in China despite 4G-only experience. The company also sold this smartphone in overseas markets but it was nowhere near to Huawei P30 Pro and P40 Pro flagships.

The analyst predicts that the Huawei P70 series will surpass the Huawei P60 series in terms of sales and take market growth of the entire P-series by up to 100% in 2024 YoY.

Kuo says that the new growth will be led by the new 5G Kirin chipset, which the company is looking to polish for the upcoming flagship smartphone.

A few months ago, Huawei launched the Mate 60 series in China, the phone is performing quite well and exceeded Huawei’s own expectations. The company is shocked by the consumer’s response to this new smartphone, as it continues to face production challenges to meet the market demand.

From online platforms to offline stores, the Huawei Mate 60 series has been running out of stock for weeks but users are still waiting for the stock return so they can buy a unit for themselves.
