Huawei P60 Pro to bring RYYB Periscope zoom for bright image

Huawei P60 Pro will bring the RYYB periscope zoom camera back to its flagship cadre. This is amazing news, as the RYYB color matrix brings brighter images than the RYYB approach.

According to the information coming from tipster DigitalChatStation, the Huawei P60 Pro could feature an RYYB periscope zoom camera. He also revealed that it is an OV64B 64 MP image sensor with a 0.7-micron pixel size and a 1/2-inch optical format.

The traditional CMOS sensor comes with an RGB color array. While its composition has four pixels, one red, one blue, and two green. Since these three colors are the three primary colors of light, white can absorb all light colors.

The RYYB color array replaces the green with yellow pixels, which is already a combination of green and red. In terms of brightness, it is the superposition of the two. Therefore, the light entering the sensor could increase by 30% to 40%.

The RYYB pattern was first in Huawei P30 Pro and Huawei is the first smartphone company that used this camera color array. However, Huawei discontinued it with P50 Pro.

Aside from the main camera, Huawei also launched SuperZoom periscope design. It is known for putting several lenses into the compact body for clear zoom.
