Huawei P50 is receiving January 2022 HarmonyOS optimization update
Huawei is rolling out a new software update for the standard P50 that comes with January 2022 HarmonyOS system optimization. The update mainly aims at the performance side of the phone and provides a new user experience once installed on the device. Therefore, were recommend you grab it as soon as it drops on your P50 device.
For your information, Huawei P50 January 2022 system optimization update comes with HarmonyOS 2 version 2.0.1.190 upgrading from HarmonyOS 2.0.1.186. This update is rolling out in batches and may take some time to reach every P50 model.
Previously, the company has seeded HarmonyOS 2.0.1.205 version for Huawei P50 Pro that installed new optimization for home screen icons on the flagship via the OTA method. These phones have been the powerhouse and current topmost flagship.
Recently, Huawei started releasing P50 Pro in the global market. The phone has a powerful camera system but it comes with EMUI 12 software instead of HarmonyOS. Still, the availability is limited to some major markets.

To update the standard Huawei P50, you need to tap on the System & updates, from here tap on System & updates, press Software updates, and tap on CHECK FOR UPDATES. Hereafter, you can follow the onscreen instructions.

- This update is available only for the Chinese consumers of the P50
- We recommend users of this device take a backup to reduce changes losing essential files.
- Keep sufficient storage to download this software update package, which will be deleted once the installation completes.
