Huawei P40 series receiving new Air Gestures, Starry Night theme and more with latest update
Huawei has started recruitment the Huawei P40 series for EMUI 11 beta testing in September and closed beta testing by sending the stable EMUI 11 version for all registered and non-registered users.
Now, Huawei is releasing a new EMUI 11 software update for P40 series users who have registered for EMUI 11. This update comes with new features that include the Starry Night theme, air gesture, and improvements for smart multi-window.

Moving forward, Huawei is expanding the reach of EMUI 11 for the global user. Previously, Huawei P40, P40 Pro, P40 Pro+ devices enrolled for EMUI 11 beta in Europe. According to the latest report, P40 series users will soon receive a stable EMUI 11 version.

Newly added features:
Themes: Added the “Starry Night” theme to take you into the beautiful starry night.
AI Air Control: Wave your hand to the right to turn pages and read, browse photos, add the ability to answer calls, insert or pause music by pressing in the air.
Smart multi-window: Fix the problem of the size of the floating window cannot be adjusted in the horizontal screen scene.

- This update is currently rolling out in China.
- The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
- The update will not erase any data
UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS FOR HUAWEI P40 SERIES:
Download via Settings:
- Open Settings
- Click on the System & updates
- Open Software update
- Tap on Check for updates option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
Download via Support app:
- Open the Support app on your device
- Go to the Service tab
- Click on the update button
- Tap on Check for update option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
