Huawei P40 series installing November 2021 security update [China]

Huawei is rolling a new November 2021 update for its one of the flagships – Huawei P40 series smartphones on the home ground. Users after installing the latest firmware, surely feel more secure in terms of data security.

The Huawei P40 series latest update installs the security patch released in November 2021 on the HarmonyOS security bulletin. Well, this patch fixes different kinds of vulnerabilities and threats that can harm the user’s data.

• Huawei P40 4G
• Huawei P40 5G
• Huawei P40 Pro 5G
• Huawei P40 Pro+ 5G

According to the information, the new software update comes with HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.212 with an update package of 321MB. Aside from security improvements, the changelog doesn’t bring any additional fixes for the system.

• Security: Integrates the November 2021 security patch for improved system security.

November 2021 security patch details:

It resolves 2 CVE in the framework, 5 CVE in Kernel, 10 CVE in Applications, and 40 CVE in third-party libraries to increase the security of the device.

HOW TO CHECK FOR UPDATES:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

You can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.

Huawei P40 status in the global market:

Huawei P40 series global variants are running on EMUI 11 software version and recently installed the October 2021 security patch. Besides this, the company also confirmed the P40 smartphone’s eligibility for the next update – EMUI 12 and began the beta in some global markets.
