Huawei P40 series smartphone has begun collecting the latest May 2022 security update. The update arrives on the HarmonyOS 2 platform with a fresh security patch for the users. Currently, the software is hovering in the Chinese market, and soon the global users will be able to fetch the update to their devices.

The new firmware is upgraded from the HarmonyOS build version 2.0.0.236 to 2.0.0.241. Though, the May 2022 update does not carry any specific additions for the Huawei P40 series. Yet, it promises to enhance the system stability of the device.

The current update also carries a new security patch that aims to solidify the security base of the handset. Further, it makes the internal core more durable and reliable for bugs and hindrances.

The following models hold C version number [C00/C01]. To know whether your smartphone system has the C version number or not, you can head to the Settings > About Phone > Version number.

Update Procedure

To upgrade your device with the latest security patch, follow the given instructions:

  • Go to the Settings menu
  • Select the System & Updates section
  • Tap on the Software Updates
  • Click on the CHECK FOR UPDATES option
  • For the available firmware, tap on the Download & Install option

Consequently, as you complete the installation procedure, the system starts performing a self-optimization and adaptation process. Hence you might notice the heat, fast power consumption, freeze, or slow charging. Do not panic, the device will return to the normal mode within 2-3 days of routine usage.
